in-class exercise for understanding the sampling distribution

  1. Break into teams of two or individually. 
  2. Roll two dice and record the mean of the outcome. 
  3. Do this 10 times (you should have 10 means). 
  4. When you're ready, enter each recorded mean into this form
  5. Your instructor will assist you in analyzing the class results with you.

Objective: give students a hands-on understanding of the sampling distribution.
